Meet Franky and Beans the boston terriers! Franky and Beans are huge fans of California Natural Small Bites, which we carry at Venicepets. A few months ago we featured this little one's dad and his other chihuahua! He has a total of 3 chihuahuas! As a chihuahua parent I totally understand why - once you get one chihuahua you just want more! They're great little dogs - very sweet, loving, loyal, and very protective of their families :P. They make great watchdogs too!

Meet Pearl, the bichon frise/cavalier king charles mix! Pearl is one of our good grooming customers. He got his haircut today and I was trying to take his photo but he was so excited to see his parents again and my photography skills are very limited so sorry for the blurry shot. I'll take a better photo next time! Pearl is a very sweet boy and we can't wait to see him again.

Meet Tuk-Tuk the Dachshund! Tuk-Tuk got himself his very first soft harness today! He got a green one to match his collar, and he's also special ordered a fleece jacket for when he gets chilly! ANESTHESIA-FREE TEETH CLEANING REMINDER FOR MAY

Getting a pet’s teeth cleaned at the vet can be stressful for both pet and owner because pets need to be put under general anesthesia in order for the vet to clean their teeth, and is much more expensive. But not to worry! You can always get anesthesia-free teeth cleaning right here at Venicepets/Marina Dog Grooming! Laurie, our dental hygienist, comes in once a month and performs this service. The pet simply sits in her lap, she talks and praises to reassure them. Most pets love the attention and enjoy seeing her! Your pets will thank you for it. They look and smell so much better after cleaning. Mari's poodles, Mocha and Java, love to get their teeth cleaned. Here they are right after the cleaning, all smiles! Teeth cleaning is available for both dogs and cats.

TODAY'S CUSTOMER ★MIA-POODLE/CHIHUAHUA MIX★

Meet Mia, the poodle/chihuahua mix! Isn't she soooooo cute?! I almost passed out when I saw these photos, too too cute! She's actually sitting on the big table of toys we have in the shop - if you look at the toys, you can get an idea of how teeny tiny she is.

Mia is pretty much the same size as the duck right behind her! She's only 6 weeks old. As an owner of 2 chihuahuas, Mia reminds me of how soft, tiny, and warm my dogs were when they were babies! I kind of miss it now. A lot of people don't know until they do it, but caring for a baby dog is just like caring for a human baby! A lot of hard work, love and care, and sleepless nights..Especially with tiny dogs. I'm sure Mia's family knows exactly what I'm talking about :)

A very happy birthday to Wallace, our good little friend who turned 5 years old this past Monday! Back in September we featured Kalbi on our blog. Kalbi the chihuahua is the mascot for his restaurant, Tokyo Kalbi! We just wanted to share this amazing poster of him that adorns the Tokyo Kalbi restaurant. We love it! Kalbi did a very good job modeling and now I have an intense craving for Japanese BBQ. A successful advertisement indeed.

TODAY'S CUSTOMER ★POCHI & IKKYU - FRENCH BULLDOGS★

Meet Pochi (left) and Ikkyu (right) the French Bulldogs! Pochi is 4 years old and Ikkyu is his little brother - he's 2 years old. They stopped by today to do a little shopping.

Pochi and Ikkyu ended up getting a Smiley pouch and a Peace pouch. Great choice! These versatile little pouches can be attached to a leash, harness (this way it looks like a teeny backpack!) or collar, and feature a little squeaky inside to get your dog's attention if need be. You can put poo bags or treats inside, it's up to you how you want to use it!
