I'm sure many of you have seen these nametags in our store already - they're super popular among our customers, probably because there's something about these tags that is different than your run-of-the-mill nametag. Each one is real sterling silver, and each letter is hand stamped as opposed to engraved, giving these tags a more handcrafted charm. There are several different designs, the ones shown above are only 2 of them, and most of them are offered in small (which are perfect for tiny dogs), medium, and large!

TODAY'S CUSTOMER ★BOO-BRUSSELS GRIFFON★

This little bundle of cuteness is Boo, the Brussels Griffon! Boo is only 6 months old, which means she's very very friendly and excited about everything. Boo's favorite knitted sweaters are from our shop, so she came by to special order another one today. You can't see the graphic but she's wearing our black knitted lips sweater! It looks super cute on her, and we can't wait for her to stop by again in the future. See you soon Boo!

Meet Dallas the Lhasa Apso! Dallas is one of our very regular customers. His mom and dad bring him in to get groomed all the time and it's always a pleasure to see them! All the staff know Dallas by name - yes, he's that regular!

Dallas himself saw our Facebook (how does he move the mouse and keyboard with his paws?) and suggested we do something fun on our Facebook page, so stay tuned because our Venicepets Facebook page is about to get even better!

NEW ARRIVAL! ★BLACK SCOOPIES★

A few months back we featured Scoopies on the blog, but we wanted to do a little update today because Scoopies has changed colors! From now on Scoopies poop bags are black, not white. So far everyone prefers the black Scoopies to the white, but if you really have your heart set on the white ones, we have a few boxes left in the shop so come get 'em while you still can!

And for those of you who have never used Scoopies before or have no idea what they are, Scoopies are large, glove-shaped poop bags that are 100% biodegradable in 18 months! The package can loop onto any leash or collar, and a portion of the proceeds go to help animals in need. They're great and many customers love them!

TODAY'S CUSTOMER ★COCO-BABY FRENCH BULLDOG★

Meet Coco, the French Bulldog puppy! Coco is only 9 weeks old so she has to be carried by her mom until she gets a bit older. She's just like any other baby dog - chubby, sleepy, warm, cute, and sweet! She got her first harness from our shop and she'll come back in the future so we're looking forward to watching her grow up. Coco is her name for the time being so it might change, we'll see :)

Meet Pearl the bulldog mix! I fell in love with Pearl the second she stepped paws in the shop. Not only is she super cute, she's got a great sense of humor as well! Pearl got herself a few new toys, treats and this orange argyle sweater she's wearing. The beanie she's got on is her mom's though so sorry, not for sale! Pearl also knows how to give high fives, lay down, and pretend she's just been shot. We hope Pearl comes back to visit us again soon!

ANESTHESIA-FREE TEETH CLEANING REMINDER FOR FEBRUARY

Getting a pet’s teeth cleaned at the vet can be stressful for both pet and owner because pets need to be put under general anesthesia in order for the vet to clean their teeth, and is much more expensive. But not to worry! You can always get anesthesia-free teeth cleaning right here at Venicepets/Marina Dog Grooming! Laurie, our dental hygienist, comes in once a month and performs this service. The pet simply sits in her lap, she talks and praises to reassure them. Most pets love the attention and enjoy seeing her! Your pets will thank you for it. They look and smell so much better after cleaning. Mari's poodles, Mocha and Java, love to get their teeth cleaned. Here they are right after the cleaning, all smiles! Teeth cleaning is available for both dogs and cats.

Just to let everybody know, our next date for anesthesia-free teeth cleaning is Monday, February 28th. We previously mentioned that we would be closed Mondays, and that still holds true, the exception being the last Monday of the month (in other words, teeth cleaning Mondays). So yes, teeth cleaning will still be on Mondays and yes, we will be here! Appointment slots are filling up fast so please contact us ASAP to book an appointment! Remember Lyle the skateboarding/snowboarding/surfing spokesdog? He stopped by again and this time he got the turtle rope toy he's balancing on his head above. Isn't he just so cute?

Meet Rooney, the cocker spaniel mix! Like many of our customers, Rooney opted for the mohawk and it looks awesome. Although it's not totally obvious from the photo, Rooney also has amazing eyelashes! It must be the cocker spaniel in him.

We wrote about Wrigley about 2 days ago, but this time he came back for his first grooming! Here he is with his dad and wearing his brand new shearling jacket from our shop. Wrigley is cute in photos but he's even cuter in person! It's not just his looks, his personality is just irresistably cute.

Here he is again, pondering life and just being cute. We hope to see him and his family back again soon!

TODAY'S CUSTOMER ★ISIS-SAVANNAH CAT★

Meet Isis, the Savannah cat!

Before I write the rest of the blog post let me just take a second to say that it feels a bit surreal writing about a cat that happens to have the same name as me! I think people with names like Michelle, John, etc. are used to hearing their own names with other people, but I've never met anyone named Isis before, let alone a cat named Isis! I think it's really cool though, and a very fitting name for this kitty!

So anyway, I'm sure most of you haven't heard of a Savannah cat before! It's our first time too, so we did a quick little Google search and found out a bit more about what a Savannah cat is. Thank you Wikipedia ;)

A Savannah cat is basically the offspring of a domestic cat and an African Serval cat (which is a medium-sized wild cat.) Isis is only 6 months old which is why she doesn't look very big but she will definitely get to be bigger than your average domestic cat, and probably weigh around 15-20 lbs. when she's full grown. Their ears are also larger than a domestic cat, and their temperament is supposedly comparable to that of a dog! They're very loyal, don't fear water and they can even be trained to walk around on a leash.

We think Isis is such a cute and pretty cat! We hope to see her again soon :)

Meet Wrigley the Morkie! For those of you who don't know, a Morkie is a Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix. Wrigley is 10 weeks old and probably the most cooperative puppy I've ever seen. He let his family dress him up and do whatever. Puppies sleep a lot so I'm sure he was just really tired and sleepy. I think this coat looks great on him, don't you?

We got a very nice surprise the other day when Hana's dad emailed us this photo of her wearing a Venicepets tee! Hana is a Frengle - French Bulldog/Beagle mix! I think Frengle is a really cute way of saying it. Hana is from Laguna Hills, OC and next month she will be 4 years old, so happy early birthday Hana! Thank you to her dad for sending us this super cute photo too!
