NEW AIRLINE-READY PET CARRIERS ARE IN!

We just got these cool new pet carriers in the shop. Each one is airline-approved (but please always check with each airline for size regulations) and can hold pets up to 20 lbs. There are 2 different designs available:

There is mesh on the back, front and top sides of this design.

Each opening zips open and closed.

Inside the back is a soft, removable pad and a strap for attaching to your pet's harness.

There's also a shoulder strap, outside pockets and a luggage tag for your pet's ID/information.

This style carrier is just like the one above, but with the added bonus of privacy. Each opening features a flap that can close over.

Meet Chloe the Yorkshire Terrier! Chloe is one of our regular customers. She's so cute and sweet! Here she is with her mom, who we recently found out is a 2012 3 time gold medalist! And we only found out through her mom...So humble. Congratulations Allyson on all your success, I'm sure Chloe is your #1 fan and was rooting for you the whole time!

We got a visit today from this pretty Newfoundland named Mini! The perfect name for her, isn't it? When she stands on all fours she's big enough to reach the cash register! She's only 2 years old, and has the softest fur ever. She left the shop with a bag of treats and a brand new rope toy.

THE DOGGY BY THE WINDOW

Hello everyone! As we all know, with all the love and happiness we experience through being pet-parents, there is always the inevitable day when we must part and say goodbye. A very nice lady came into the shop the other day wanting to buy one of our dog mannequins she saw by the window. We typically don't sell the mannequins but Mari (VP and MDG owner) decided to make an exception for this lady and we sold it to her. When Mari inquired about what she was going to use the mannequin for, the lady told her that she had recently lost her beloved chihuahua, and that the mannequin happened to be the exact size of her dog. She was going to use the mannequin in memory of her dog and put her dog's clothing on it. We were extremely touched and wanted to share this story. We know a lot of people have the mentality that pets are "just pets," but we at Venicepets feel and treat them as members of our family. You don't just forget a family member, right? We're happy that this mannequin gets to serve the purpose of comforting a person's loss instead of simply sitting by the window. We hope this makes her days go by a little bit easier and we sympathize with her loss.
